Arcadio Aguilar, one of the organizers of the Movement 350, explained that recycling paper, plastic and cardboard, among other household products, could reduce levels of carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere at 350 ppm ( parts per million).
This figure, according to scientists, would be the safe upper limit to reduce the effects of climate change. Currently the concentration of carbon dioxide in the planet is 392 ppm.
The activity, held at Parque Urraca, was also conducive to various conservation movements demanded an agreement at the climate summit to be held in November in Mexico.
Aguilar said that in Panama seeks to implement recycling, but requires the support and ecological awareness of citizens and government .
