Welcome Note For Hindu Wedding

Battery Recycling

The batteries are a convenient source of energy produces electricity from chemical reactions. Of them now feeds much of the apparatus used by modern man. All batteries are generically called, but their names are varied and derive from the internal composition. Can be alkaline, carbon-zinc, nickel-cadmium, button depending on whether mercury, lithium and silver oxide, zinc-air.

Although the stack is implemented, it is not energy efficient, since their manufacture consumes 50 times more energy than it produces.

The problem with batteries is that when deposited in landfills can lose its tightness and release materials such as lead and mercury, followed by barium, cadmium, copper, nickel, zinc, tin, vanadium and manganese.

Heavy elements are toxic at low concentrations and also not degraded and therefore tend to bioaccumulate , contaminating land, water and environment in general, making it a particularly hazardous waste.

For example, a mercury micropyle can contaminate 600,000 liters of water to release their components mercury or cadmium, which when in contact with the ground and then when percolate and reach the water table, contaminating the food chain. If we consider that only in the United States removed 200 million batteries a year, we realize that the issue is more than worrisome.

Although battery recycling is technically feasible, the material recovery of used batteries is a complex process and recycling is not done now in many parts of the world. How

batteries pollute?

common batteries are composed of heavy metals, mercury, cadmium. And if, when the period is just throw the trash usefully surely end up in a landfill.

Rain washes the remains of the piles and drag the mercury that makes its way through land, until it finds an underground channel of water and pollution. As the underground water channel is always in motion, pouring into the river ends and so reaches the sea.

At the same time, contaminated water is set on the flesh of fish and sick man when consumed. But curiously, the mercury does not affect fish.

do I do with used batteries?

plastic in bottles such as plastic bottles used for soft drinks, usually 1 liter or half liter. The large piles of plastic bottles you can pack in which they can contain large batteries for proper collection, recalls that prior to the collection of any material for recycling, cleaning materials and packaging waste which will be collected , this facilitates the process of recycling that the waste will have in the future.
